Inservices
Perfect for lunch-time continuing education for the whole team. While facilities may pay a single fee ($199) to provide a group inservice for the entire team, only 1 Post-Test and 1 Certificate of Attendance will be issued. For each additional Post-Test and Certificate, a $45 charge will apply.

 

Handouts
Powerpoint notes and and a printable 93 page manual will be made available for download with the purchase. Registrants will get a link to download handouts by email.

 

Certificates of Completion/ Post-Test
Paid registrants will receive a link to take a post-test. Registrants who score 80% on this post-test will receive a Certificate of Completion for 1.5 hour of content from Aquatic Therapy University. One 1 Post-Test and 1 Certificate of Attendance will be issued per paid registrant. For additional Post-Tests and Certificates, a $45 fee will apply.


Preapproval of CEUs
Most states accept live webinars for contact hours without the need for preapproval. We have decided to go the extra mile and obtain preapproval of our on-demand courses through the Federation of State Boards of PT. This course is being reviewed by FSBPT for 1 CCU (1 credit). Who Should Attend?
This course is appropriate for rehab professionals with a baseline level of knowledge about the properties of water (at least 500 hours working in an aquatic setting). The target audience is physical therapists and physical therapist assistants although other rehab professionals will benefit.

 

Overview
This 1.5-hour course will bring you up to speed with fresh aquatic ideas for the pediatric client with sensory and motor issues.


Learning Objectives

1. Describe 1-2 reasons why sensory and motor integration is a natural fit for many aquatic settings.

2. Compare the relative benefits of 3-4 treatment items, available in pediatric clinics, which can be used to transform a pool into a sensory and motor room.

3. Describe at least 4 of the 16 treatment stations which can be created in most pools.

4. Describe at least 1 aquatic activity demonstrated during this video course intended to alter each of the following:

vestibular input
tactile input
proprioceptive input
auditory input
visual input


Instructor:

Andrea Salzman, MS, PT graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a Masters degree in physical therapy. Salzman is the Founder and Owner of the Aquatic Resources Network, the largest multidisciplinary clearinghouse of information on aquatic therapy. She is Vice President of 10K Health, LLC, a temporary staffing agency. She currently serves as Program Director for Aquatic Therapy University and has assisted hundreds of facilities during the start-up and training phases of their aquatic practice.
 
She has served as:
